 Dolly出生于1946年，11岁便录制唱片，高中毕业过后便迅速进入乡村音乐届，1971年初，25岁的dolly便依靠一首《joshua》成功夺得了乡村音乐榜的第一。而后的dolly更是势不可挡，职业生涯拥有十张金唱片和白金唱片，荣获6座格莱美奖，就连天后Whitney Houston最经典的歌曲I will always love you都是翻唱自dolly专辑中的作品。可以说，在一定程度上，dolly就是美国乡村音乐的代言人。
