星期三的孩子Wednesday's Child / Matt Monroe

    The Quiller Memorandum (1966)，是把故事设在60年代西柏林的间谍片。在故事情节上乏善可陈，英国的MI5，却派了一个美国人 Quiller 到西柏林调查新纳粹的兴起，这个 Qiuller 既不酷也不精，是有点大大咧咧的傻，许多情节莫名其妙，即使在间谍片的设置中也说不通，电影编剧还是后来得了诺贝尔奖的Horald Pinter。但是电影中颇有几位名配角，演大反派的是瑞典演员，主演《第七封印》的 Max von Sydow，演英国特工头目Pol的是主演《桂河大桥》的 Alec Guinness，当然最夺目的是女主角大美人 Senta Berger。Senta Berger 是奥地利演员，不过也曾演出过不少英语片，和当时不少好莱坞名角配过戏，最著名的是1977年的二战电影《铁十字勋章》(Cross of Iron)。她后来还成为了德国电影学院主席。 　　

这部电影中展示的，是另一个时代的西柏林，是在都市＝塞车+人头汹涌之前的时代，建筑矗立于空旷的都市中，柏林奥林匹克体育场的清冷、校园的温暖、游泳池的古典装饰带来的怪异、新纳粹“老巢”的阴暗、没有特色的新建筑的枯燥无情，摄影机似乎把建筑的性格都一一展示了出来。

不过这部电影让人印象最深的，是著名电影配乐家 John Barry 创作的主题曲《星期三的孩子》(Wednesday’s Child)，优美、忧伤、渗入人心、让人无法忘记。据这个网站介绍，这首主题
