这首歌曲原唱者是Frank Sinatra，是上个世纪中叶一名很出名的歌手， 《教父》中的歌手约翰尼·方登的形象就是根据他来设计的。《My way》是他的代表作。
《My Way》，有史以来被记录和传唱最多的欧美名曲之一。
除了原唱者弗兰克·辛纳屈(Frank Sinatra)因为《My Way》再次爆红，创作这首歌的作者之一保罗.安卡(Paul Anka)也因此声名鹊起。
《My Way》改编自法国歌曲《Comme d'habitude》(一如往日）。最早听到这首法语歌时，保罗.安卡认为这是一首平庸之作，但其中有一些特别的东西。于是他购买了改编版权，但一直没有改编的念头。
保罗.安卡是加拿大歌手，60年代初期已是当红的青少年偶像，后来成功转型，成为一名身兼演唱、作曲和制作于一身的全能音乐人。
而弗兰克·辛纳屈和保罗.安卡早在《My Way》诞生前，已经是彼此欣赏的好友。
私下里，弗兰克·辛纳屈曾多次表示过希望保罗.安卡为自己写一首歌，但保罗.安卡一直认为自己过于年轻，实力不够，无法写出兼具深度和智慧的作品。
直到弗兰克·辛纳屈因为事业困境，再次向他提出请求，希望他能为自己创作一首合适的歌曲，否则可能就要退出歌坛了。
这才触发保罗.安卡写出《My Way》。而这距离他买下改编版权已经整整两年了。
弗兰克·辛纳屈去世之后，保罗.安卡在自己的演唱会上，特别安排了录音，两人实现时空对唱。
可以看出，两人的友谊真的非常深厚，令人感动不已。
