结束了一段几乎是在全美国民众眼前度过的婚姻之后，洁西卡（Jessica Simpson）决定要以快乐的舞曲来表现她挥别婚变阴霾的心情。洁西卡即将在这个月底推出的新单曲“A Public Affair”是首很适合跳舞的劲曲，有些人看到歌名可能会以为这是一首描写洁西卡与前夫尼克莱奇（Nick Lachey）离婚过程的歌曲，但事实上这首歌跟洁西卡的婚姻毫无关系，根据洁西卡所属的Epic唱片公司主管Charlie Walk表示，这首歌的内容描述的是女孩们一起热舞的快乐心情，结合了麦当娜（Madonna）早期的舞曲风以及球风火合唱团（Earth, Wind & Fire）经典名曲“Let''s Groove”的味道，也展现出洁西卡走出不愉快迎向阳光的好心情。
洁西卡这星期二在一场众多名人参加的私人派对中已经试播了这首由曾为夏奇拉（Shakira）与山塔那（Carlos Santana）制作过歌曲的Lester Mendez所担纲制作的歌曲，Charlie Walk表示当时他们并没有告诉现场来宾这是由谁演唱的歌曲，但大家反应都很热烈，不但跟著歌曲跳舞，而且还纷纷要求DJ重播这首歌，如此热情的反应为洁西卡打了一剂强心针。这首单曲的音乐录影带将由「X战警：最后战役（X-Men: The Last Stand）」的导演布莱特雷特纳（Brett Ratner）执导，至于收录这首单曲的洁西卡最新专辑则预计将于八月底发行。
A Public Affair is the fifth studio album from American pop singer Jessica Simpson. The album will be released through Epic Records on August 29, following her move from Colombia Records in early 2006. The first single from the album is "A Public Affair."
