前不久国外媒体铺天盖地地报道了迪士尼临时撤销偶像红星麦莉?赛勒斯(Miley Cyrus)入围2010年格莱美奖的提名歌曲《The Climb》。消息公布后，该曲目的其中一位作曲人杰茜?亚历山大(Jessi Alexander)接受采访，并提到了她对这次撤销提名的看法。“老实说，这实在太令人震惊了。”
杰茜表示，在得知入围之后，她兴奋了整整一个晚上，结果第二天早晨一切来了个一百八十度大转变——她被告知迪士尼公司撤销了赛勒斯的提名。“太丧了。我收到了很多鲜花和香槟，大家一直向我道喜。如今我真不知道该如何收拾。”
她强调道，得到美国国家唱片艺术与科学学院的肯定，获得一项格莱美提名，之后又重新把它从手中拿走确实很难让人接受，也真的很丢脸。“现在的状况给人感觉我像是直接认输或者在掩饰某种东西。”
据悉，麦莉?赛瑞斯获的“最佳电影作曲奖”提名作品《The Climb》被认为是入围条件不够清晰。它虽是电影《蒙汉娜》(Hannah Montan：The Movie)中的插曲，却不是特意为其量身定做。然而对此，杰茜称，这根本是个灰色地带。当时她和另一位作者乔恩?美柏(Jon Mabe)像往常一样在一起创作。就在那个早晨灵感突现，这首曲子的旋律浮现在她的脑海里。而在《蒙汉娜》开机之前，影片的导演皮特?切尔森(Peter Chelsom)确实来纳什维尔找过他们。在听了她做的音乐之后，提出了让他们为电影创作原声的要求。于是她把《It's the Climb》录制成CD，数周后皮特回电，告诉她这首歌将作为电影插曲的主要部分。
