  這首歌是美國歌手Amanda McBroom所作，1979年由Bette Midler在同名電影“The Rose’’一片中唱紅，此曲不僅使Bette Midler贏得葛拉美獎最佳流行音樂女歌手，也讓Amanda McBroom奪得金球獎最佳原創歌曲的獎項。2006年愛爾蘭合唱團體Westlife亦曾翻唱 “The Rose’’，在英國造成轟動。
