组合成立于2006年9月。
当时WBR副主席Tommy Page正参与制作《High School Musical》主演Ashley Tisdale的处子专辑。一日在陪同Tisdale进行首场HSM巡演的排练时，Page看到Ahsley Tisdale与Kenny Ortega挑选出的十名舞者同台献艺。他和Ashley均被舞者中的Jared Murillo震撼了。在他们看来Jared简直生来就是属于舞台的!Page于是决定再挖掘另外四个像他一样能歌善舞的小伙子，将他们组建成一个光彩四射的组合。毫无疑问，对Page来说，Jared是组合当仁不让的核心。
在好莱坞年轻有为的声乐教练Eric Vetro的精挑细选下，Asher Book被介绍给Page。不禁是其出色的音乐才华，Asher乐天随和的个性也深深打动了Page。Page将他纳入旗下。在一系列的试唱试演的选拨之后，风趣活泼的Wesley Quiun，Nicky T，以及Nathaniel Flatt脱颖而出。加上Ashely Tisdale，五人组合正式成立。
