这首《To be with you》无疑是Mr.big乐队最为出色的一支柔情作品。整部作品洋溢着一种享受音乐创作的轻松气氛，音乐从不易察觉的乐队成员相视笑声起始，掌控节奏的鼓点随之而起，主唱磁性的歌声恰到好处的融入进来，歌声中饱含着源自心底的深情乞求，丝丝椎心痛楚传入听者心底，而此时乐队其他成员的合音顺势将音乐的深情引入极至，主唱歌声与背景合音的一唱一和交相辉映也成就了这首音乐的最突出的特点。特别值得一提的是 Eric Martin 的演唱，他那优雅而深情的演绎风格是其他重金属歌手身上找不到的。音乐背景中的吉他扫弦也非常见功底，给整首音乐增色许多又不喧宾夺主，这全部归功于技艺非凡的吉他手Paul Gilbert，因此MR.BIG每首歌曲中都有一段经典耐听的吉他SOLO也成就了MR.BIG的独特音乐个性。
