015年是梵高的125年诞辰，为了纪念梵高，英国著名的电影工作室BreakThru Films(曾获得奥斯卡奖)和Trademark Films从2012年开始筹拍一部名叫《Loving Vincent》的动画电影，通过动画师手绘的120幅梵高画作，试图探索梵高的精神世界与死亡之谜。
这部梵高油画电影用了《Vincent》（starry starry night，繁星点点）这首乐曲，他是美国知名乡村音乐和摇滚音乐创作人唐·麦克林（Don Mclean）在欣赏了凡高的《星夜》之后的激情之作。
