罗琳娜·麦肯尼特（Loreena Isabel Irene McKennitt，1957年2月17日－），出生于加拿大缅省草原地区的一个小城镇（Modern）。她是加拿大著名的爱尔兰竖琴演奏家、键盘手，以及歌手。以创作、表演凯尔特和中东风格音乐以及女高音演唱而闻名。

这首歌是根据叶芝的同名诗歌〈Down By the Salley Garden〉谱曲而成，最初翻译为《柳园里》，是叶芝早年的诗作。他的早年诗歌韵律优美，感情细腻，辞藻华丽，象征意味浓郁，明显受到英国浪漫主义和法国象征主义诗歌的影响 。
