《Closer》是烟鬼组合成员安德鲁·塔格特首次参与献声的歌曲，歌词的创作灵感来源于安德鲁·塔格特与
前任的经历，音乐灵感是他在反复聆听Blink-182乐队歌曲《IMissYou》时所得到的。在录唱过程中，安德
鲁·塔格特和海尔希分别贡献男女声部分。在制作过程中，安德鲁·塔格特有将音乐节奏变成一整首歌的想法肖恩·弗兰克向他介绍了如何处理和分层人声。
