1984年，R&B歌手Eamon出生在美国纽约南部的斯塔滕岛上，9岁的时候他就开始登台表演，当时还只是跟随着他的父亲一起在纽约附近表演，并且曾经有过在纽约著名的麦迪逊花园广场表演的经历。15岁的时候，Eamon结识了歌曲作者兼制作人Milk Dee，Eamon开始了第一次在录音室的工作。在录音室里，Eamon参与了包括Janet Jackson，Mary J. Blige，Sinead O'Connor等人的录音工作，随后被音乐制作人Mark Passy看中，加盟Jive唱片公司，开始了个人演唱生涯。
 
2003年末，19岁的Eamon发行了个人第一首单曲 “Fuck It”，这首非常粗俗的单曲很快在美国的唱片市场上成为抢手货。很快，Eamon的第一张个人专辑也在酝酿之中，2004年2月17日，Eamon的第一张个人专辑“I Don't Want You Back”正式发行。

Jive唱片公司从来都是制造商业音乐明星的摇篮，超级偶像组合Backstreet Boys、“小甜甜”Britney Spears、著名歌手兼制作人R. Kelly都是Jive唱片公司的摇钱树，这次Jive唱片公司又推出了“少年天才”R&B歌星Eamon，这张唱片在商业攻势下居然也能在首周卖到了10万零6千张，排到了Billboard 200排行榜的第7位。

靠着优美动人的音乐旋律，加上惊人的歌词，来自纽约、尚未满二十岁的Eamon这位Jive唱片公司年度新人的个人首支单曲“Fuck It(I Don't Want You Back)”先是让全美DJ惊讶的张大了嘴巴，引起全美电台的一阵骚动，单曲发行后随即创下连续九周称霸单曲销售榜冠军的骇人成绩，不但让消费者惊讶，唱片公司也开心的合不拢嘴。Eamon的首支单曲面市以来，唯一没有让大家惊讶的一件事，就是专辑的销售数字，延续了单曲的良好表现，发行首周就取得流行榜第七，节奏蓝调榜第三的佳绩。

 

除了抢眼的歌词内容，Eamon九岁起就跟着父亲表演的丰富经验，以及好的制作团队，都是这张专辑备受瞩目的原因。专辑中主要的制作工作，由Milk Dee(曾与Janet Jackson、Mary J. Blige、MC Lyte、Sinead O'Conner合作)负责，专辑中也有Milk Dee献声演出。首支单曲“Fuck It(I Don't Want You Back)”是Eamon对他那位分分合合两次，最后还是欺骗了他的女友，一时气愤之下所写出来的歌曲，在其他的曲目中，同样也能感受到Eamon用独特的音乐旋律，营造出他的感情观与生活态度。他自称这种独创的音乐类型称作“Ho-Wop”，结合了Hip-Hop与从小深受父亲影响的Smooth Doo-Wop曲风，这是一种独一无二，Eamon自己深深引以为傲全新曲风。不同于流行偶像新好男孩、布兰妮、贾斯汀，还有R&B天王劳凯利等师兄师姐们，Eamon独树一帜的全新街头风格，已经踏出了成功的第一步。
