二十世纪中期电影“票房皇后”多丽丝.黛在1950年音乐片《Tea for Two（鸳鸯茶）》饰演女主角并演唱这首影片同名主题曲。

Tea for two 这首曲子是原本是20世纪20年代流行在好莱坞和百老汇的一首爵士乐曲：1925年，作曲家VINCENT YOUMANS在美国为百老汇写了一部音乐剧《NO，NO，NANETTE》，其中一首歌就叫做《鸳鸯茶》(TEA FOR TWO)。后来在1928年，这首曲子被苏联天才音乐家肖斯塔科维奇（Dmitry Shostakovich）改成了管弦乐，用在他的作品The Jazz Album 爵士组曲中，并在后来编写芭蕾舞剧《黄金时代》(THE GOLD AGE)的时候也用了这首曲子。
1950年，美国战后著名的Girl Singer 歌手之一Doris Day在喜剧电影《Tea for two》中担任女主角，并在剧中演唱了tea for two这首歌曲，使得全球再一次掀起鸳鸯茶热潮。
应该提到的是在80年代法国电影《虎口脱险》中也用到了这首歌，就是他们吹口哨对暗号的时候吹的调子。
