约翰·列侬生平大事记：1940年十月九日，约翰·列侬出生于英国利物浦。16岁时，Mimi阿姨送给列侬一把吉他。1956年列侬组了第一个乐队theQuarrymen，团员有PeteShotton,NigelWhalley和IvanVaughan。1957年7月6日John到认识了保罗·麦卡特尼，对他的记歌词能力、乐器素养与演奏……
单看歌词，很普通的一首爱情歌曲，惟其出自John Lennon而显得与众不同。可能是写爱情，也可能不是，但无疑是写给Yoko Ono的。
Lennon 的很多曲子都是写给Yoko的。在写stand by me那会儿，他刚刚回到了分离一年多的Yoko身边。歌中夹杂着安全感和不安全感，还有难以言明的依赖。Yoko，这个大他七岁的日本女人，一个被众多媒体批评为ugly的老女人，究竟带给敏感脆弱而又稍许偏执的Lennon了什么呢？他们一起做音乐，一起录音，一起嘲笑那些电梯歌谣，一起面对善意的和不善意的媒体，一起在床上呼吁Please give peace a chance，一起做爱，一起痛苦的录下即将小产的孩子的心跳，可能还一起吸毒。
