埃尔加《威风凛凛进行曲》

 <威风凛凛进行曲>是由英国国宝级作曲家:爱德华·埃尔加Edward·Elgar创作的。

    在1897年的皇定进行曲与清唱剧的表演之后，艾尔加才真正显露出他善于掌握英国仪礼乐曲特质的才华。从此之后他筹划了一系列的管弦进行曲，并以莎士比亚的名剧“奥塞罗”第二幕：“光荣战争的壮丽堂皇与骄傲”为标题，共计五首作品。第一首完成于1901年，在同年十月十九日利物浦的首演即相当成功，一周后在伦敦的演奏也同样受到热最的回响。有人批评艾尔加这首作品不能充分反应他的才华，但他说：我知道有许多人喜欢以音乐来庆祝，而我正是为这些人而创作。”他确实做到了这一点；“威风凛凛进行曲”著名的旋律正是音乐史上最伟大的作品之一。

   《第一号威风凛凛进行曲》著名的旋律正是音乐史上最伟大的作品之一。第一号威风凛凛进行曲慢速的一段是英国第二国歌。曾被爱德华七世用作《加冕颂歌》,英国作家豪斯曼还为此写了抒情诗《希望和光荣的国土》,只要英国人要表现他们的爱国精神就会唱这一首,影片为去年春天的时候用于英国女皇登基50周年的演奏会.可以说，这段旋律在英国的地位，几乎与国歌一样神圣。此外，甚至在美国许多院校的毕业典礼上，学生们也是在这支旋律的音乐声中领取文凭，其影响之深远可见一斑。

    这一段还被用在《海绵宝宝》的《街道巡查员》（第七集A）中海绵宝宝演讲时的一段画面上；也在英国动画片《怪鸭历险记》里经常出现（80年代出生的动画迷应该都看过这个动画），而且是在结尾的时候：还被用在迪士尼《幻想曲2000》第七首无声动画片《诺亚方舟》（唐老鸭和黛丝主演）上被改编成一首变奏式进行曲。 　　第一号威风凛凛进行曲有两种主旋律组成，一种速度较快，一种速度较慢，引子简短，带入第一主题后，其中出现与引子基本相同的旋律，接着变慢速度，进入第二主题，过后又加速度，重新进入第一主题，但是减去了重复的一段，其中又出现与引子基本相同的旋律，接着变慢速度，进入旋律与第二主题几乎相同，只是加强演奏了的第三主题，到结尾，速度加快，然后更快（piu mosso），有明显的铃的声音，最后结束。
