电影《名利场》插曲 She Walks in Beauty 的英语歌词

 

 

《名利场》是早年学英语时看的，那时根本不知道萨克雷是什么人，也不知道杨必是谁 ---- 还以为是个扔到废料库里的老夫子。那时一本商务出的英汉对照本，现在都烂得没法收拾了。

 

我那时，当然，跟我周围的同事一样，一打开书就很喜欢艾米莉，很讨厌瑞贝卡。《蝴蝶梦》里的瑞贝卡本来就讨厌，这里的瑞贝卡，看着看着，总盼着她遭报应而让我们这些读故事的有点轻松和快感。后来慢慢年纪大了，慢慢觉得老萨的文字和杨必的文字未见得就那么玩世不恭，其实，那些貌似玩世的文字背后，老萨头和老杨头（那时我深信不疑如果能见到杨必肯定大家都会叫她老杨头，否则确实不可想像）是隐藏了他们的偏心。他们实际上，在当时的环境下，似乎不得不在人前装作要和瑞贝卡划清界线的样子，而处处在护着她，或者是在没法护着她，也心里始终在为她辩护。试想，瑞贝卡如果出生在艾米莉或《蝴蝶梦》里那个与她同名的瑞贝卡那种家庭里，从小百事无忧受到百般呵护，长大了必然是光辉盖世万众仰慕青史留名，而艾米莉之辈除了毫无例外地能成为一个有钱有势的贵族夫人外，恐怕别的什么也不是。

 

显然这个版本的电影制作者也是偏爱瑞贝卡的，你看他们给她配上了拜伦的诗句。
